~ The Blues and Purple ~

One week ago our son and I decided to submit

each two entries to our local fair.

Judging was on Wednesday, and by Thursday

we were so tempted to make the 45 minute trip to go back and see the results.

But we waited...until the last day, Sunday.

That day we attended with our grown children and grandchildren.

The youngest wanted to go on fair rides, so this we did first.

After the last ticket was taken...and the last ride ridden

I could wait no longer.

I HAD to take a peek in the barn that contained this year's fair entries.

We walked passed the vegetables, passed the beautiful cut flower displays,

passed the honey and egg entries,

then finally to the art and photographs.

Here was where family and I stared...searching...

searching...searching...

for the two entries each we brought five days before.

And lo...

there they were!

Each one beautifully adorned with a blue satin ribbon...

and one...

an unplanned photograph I had taken of a very surprising view, 

had a wonderful purple!

Grand Champion of all twenty photography classes!

I was so happy...amazed...

and grateful!

Every now and then I enjoy testing out new items

that include my artwork. 3 Ring Binders were the latest,

and I am very happy with the quality of these! I just may need

Best Of Show ~

This past Sunday we attended a model horse live show

so that one of the youngest members of our family

could enter his few and one of my Breyer model horses.

It was his first time out, and our 8 horses were showing against

hundreds of other beautiful models owned by many seasoned

model horse collectors.

Such an amazing time!

This young 9 year old carefully "brushed and groomed" each of his equine entries, 

positioned them in the "show ring" for their best display...

 and by the end of his classes this very happy, new 

showman had earned one second, one fifth, one first place blue ribbon...

then stunned us all as he went on to win champion

and grand champion / best of show! 

I do believe he will be looking forward to more shows in the future!

~ Christmas 2015 ~

I know it's way past Christmas time...and supposed to be Spring...

but the snow and cold we have had nearly every day

for the past week seems like it could be Christmas!

Above was our greatroom...all decked out for the 2015 holidays!

Mini Ponies in tennis shoes! 

There were a few at the Horse Expo in a local mall this past Saturday!

This little one loved what she saw,

and spent quite a few minutes staring at herself and "kissing" the mirror!
